Blas Pascal University

Blas Pascal University is a private institution of higher education dedicated to the training of future highly competitive professionals, via theoretical knowledge put into practice under the motto "to know and to know how." http://www.ubp.edu.ar/

UBP aspires to develop creative professionals prepared for a growing competitive market, emphasizing the value of solidarity and ethical commitment to sustainable development in Argentina.
UBP is committed to educational innovation and change in teaching and learning models, using the most up-to-date technological resources.

Blas Pascal University offers traditional on-campus educational as well as distance learning for students not residing in the province of Córdoba. Additionally, it is the only educational institution with an on-campus Student Residence.

The International Relations Center helps the exchange student adapt to Argentine society and facilitates shared cultural experiences, which is the primal objective of our programs.

Students Life / Home-Stay

Home-stays are a very important part of our programs in terms of integrating the student in the Argentine way of life. Our total immersion method extends beyond the classroom and includes lodging in a friendly Argentine family. All families have been carefully selected and are monitored to ensure complete satisfaction of the home-stay experience.

We highly value student integration in Argentine everyday life, as it is fundamental to understanding local values, customs and culture. The International Relations Center offers students the possibility of being hosted in a selected family's home so that their stay may be warm and pleasant.

The student can also choose to stay in the UBP Residence, which consists of 52 dormitories designed with 24-hour internet access and central heating, strategically located on-campus with 24-hour security, a protected area in case of emergencies, and parking. Each room is equipped with two beds, desks, closets, a kitchenette, small fridge, microwave oven, telephone, fan, and heating. Other options include TV, laundry, and housekeeping services. Additionally, the Residence is equipped with common kitchens and cooking utensils, study room, common room with TV, mini convenience store, paddle/tennis court and soccer court (www.residenciasubp.com.ar).

Life on a university campus in Argentina is quite different from campus life in other countries. In most Argentina universities, campus activities involve attending classes and may occasionally include a cup of coffee or a snack in the cafeteria; for the most part, social life remains off-campus.
We invite you to experience the Blas Pascal difference.

Orientation and Excursions

The International Relations Center takes action to help the student integrate in their new environment, get to know his/her social group and professors, and adapt to the academic system, among other things.

For this reason, the activities being developed are mainly recreational so that the student can experience the landscapes, geographic attractions, history, and Argentine culture, while feeling a sense of belonging with the group of exchange students.

Professors, tutors, and CRI staff accompany the students on the excursions, which generates a closer link between the student and the university.
Furthermore, it is important to note that during the Intensive Program, the student must take a Placement Exam in order to determine his/her Spanish level. The student will then be placed in either the intermediate or advanced Spanish class (for the academic semester) according to Placement Exam results.

Tutors

There is always someone willing to help the newcomer meet the challenges of adapting to a new environment. This is one of our program’s features which international students have found most rewarding. The tutor will share conversations, activities, excursions, trips, and nightlife, and will be a vital part of the student's experiences and social life in our city.
